Is this really the issue dividing the country?
Mood:  caffeinated
Topic: Philosophy
A lot of people might think my Gay Away parody means I am anti gay. I am not. It's a parody. I have gay friends and believe they should be allowed to marry if they want.

Most states banned interracial marriage all the way up to 1967. Alabama banned it all the way up until 4 years ago (it was on the books until the year 2000), and did so for the same reasons that are quoted now. Do we really need to make another group of people fight the same fights over and over again?

It's the legislation of one religious groups opinion. I think it's fine if a church does not want to marry two gay people. That is the churches right. But there is a fundamental difference between a legal marriage and the religious sacrament of marriage. Our country will never be free as long as religions can force their version of morality on us.

It's none of my business if two consenting people of any sex get married and it does not affect me.

What do you people think... if you suddenly let them marry more people will become gay? How does this affect you?
