I am not sick or dying, but I have a dream. The Make-A-Wish people won’t help me, but you can! I want to go to the Big Texan resteraunt in Amarillo Texas and take a crack at eating a really big steak. 72oz. to be exact, plus shrimp, salad and potato. If I finish it all, it is free... if not, I have to pay. The problem with that is... I am really freaking poor!

That’s where you my internet friends come in. Donate a buck to help me eat the monster steak. I think I can do it, and if I can all money collected will go to local animal charities. But if I can’t I need your help to cover the monster check. Donate a buck and tell others. Send words of encouragement, tell me I am stupid. Help me gorge on the big steak!

Last year the Steak was $72 according to the website (but they wont give you a current price online as it changes daily), my goal is $120. All money given in excess of what I need will automatically go to local animal charities. I won’t keep a cent other then to pay for that big mucking steak in the event of failure.

Okay, told ya' I been playing poker online at PartyPoker. Thought I'd share one of the little bits of wisdom I have gleaned.

Don't let the blinds see the flop for free!

Phil Gordon says that all the time on Celebrity Poker... It's very true. I won a tourney today (not for real money of course. I'd probably get eaten alive with real money) because my opponent let me see the flop for free.
We were down to two people. I drew a 3,6 offsuite. I would have folded had he bet. Flop comes up Ace/3/6. I hit two pairs. He goes all in... naturally I assume an Ace (I had already noticed him not raising before the flop, so it was a safe guess.)He goes all in, I call...He reveals an Ace and a Queen for a pair of Aces. 4th street is a Jack. The River is another 6. I already had him beat, but the full house is awesome.

The point is... had he raised the bet before the flop he would have scared me away and picked up easy money, instead he let a 3 and a 6 beat him.

I love poker. Especially Texas Hold Em'. Recently I got to sit down with my family in Michigan and play for the first time in real life. It was a blast! I played very well, but didn't win.

I was up there for a family funeral, which was very sad, but it was great connecting with my family.

Anyway, I had been watching the poker games on TV and understood the strategy. Love Bravo's celebrity Poker. I played tight early and aggresive later, it was a blast. I have an uncle who runs tournies up there. He's got the cards, tables, chips, everything.

Since getting back I have been playing at PartyPoker.net and it is a lot of fun. Not brave enough to try real money but I'm doing real well in play money (free) tournies. My name in the game is WestTXWild.

Here is the point. If your one of those jokers who goes all in on the first hand before the flop, your an idiot... win or lose your still an idiot. I saw pocket aces beaten by trip 2s and both of them still think going all in before a flop was the right play.
